A Christmas Trip to NYC
My husband surprised me with a Christmas trip to the city last week, and it was so much fun. I’m obsessed with the city so it was the perfect gift. We dropped the kids off at my sister’s house, hopped on the train, and headed into the city. We also stayed at a hotel, which we rarely do and my sister picked the kids up from school and brought them back to our house.
Here’s everything we squeezed into our Christmas date in the city:
Grand Central Holiday Market
Some of the shops here are definitely expensive, but they have the cutest ornaments and prints. There’s also a print vending machine that I have to stop at every time we’re there.
Bryant Park Holiday Market
I’ve been coming to this market for years and it never gets old. It immediately puts me in the Christmas spirit. The shops are adorable and the food is always fun—my husband is obsessed. If you’re going, trust me and go early on a weekday
St. Patrick’s Cathedral
One of my favorite places to stop when we’re nearby. It’s so beautiful, and I always light a candle. There’s also a little gift shop in the front where I grabbed a few cute Christmas presents for my kids
Rockefeller Center
We obviously had to see the tree. It’s insanely crowded, but still totally worth it. We went into American Girl to grab Christmas gifts for my daughters, stopped into Anthropologie (always), and did a lot of shopping while walking up Fifth Avenue from Bryant Park. The holiday windows were so good this year.
Columbus Circle Holiday Market
This market is smaller than Bryant Park, but honestly more enjoyable because it’s not as packed. My husband and I grabbed a sangria from the Manor Sangria stand and I finally tried the baked cheese sandwich I’ve been wanting for years. We picked up a few gifts and then headed back to the hotel
The Porch at Bryant Park
We had about 30 minutes to kill before dinner, so we popped in here for a drink. They had outdoor heaters and it ended up being way better than I expected.
La Pecora Bianca
I asked on Instagram where we should go for a date night near Bryant Park, and this was the top recommendation by far. We loved it. The food and service were amazing, and it felt super welcoming and kid-friendly. I’d absolutely bring our kids next time. Their pizzas looked so good and my kids would be obsessed.
Frosty’s Christmas Bar
This was definitely a one-and-done for us. The Christmas decor was fun to see, but not something I’d rush back to. We had one drink and then went around to a few other bars by the hotel.
