5 New Shows I Recommend Everyone Watch Right Now
7kidskitchens sister here again!!
With so much new content being released every week, it can be hard to know what’s actually worth your time. I have been addicted to shows lately especially mini series! I feel like I really only started consistently watching shows last year when I started knitting so if you have any suggestions leave them down below! I have given up on the knitting (for now) but I’ve kept up with the shows and I’ve recently watched 5 shows I think anyone will love! Whether you’re into crime thrillers, dramas, or historical, there’s something here for everyone.
Task
Genre: Crime Drama
Where To Watch: HBO MAX
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I just finished this show, and wow! I had to watch it week to week since new episodes came out every Sunday. My two roommates and I would sometimes watch together, and other times my boyfriend and I would — whoever was around on Sunday nights got to join in. I loved all the characters on the task force, and I especially loved Jayson and Maeve. The story is so complex and really dives into the characters’ pasts. Also, shout-out to Sam — he was one of the sweetest characters I’ve come across in a long time!
The Buccaneers
Genre: Historical Drama / Romance
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you love period dramas like Bridgerton or The Gilded Age, then The Buccaneers should definitely be next on your list. Set in the late 1800s, it follows a group of young, wealthy American women as they navigate love, friendship, and the pressures of high society. Each of the girls is dealing with her own struggles and past traumas, but what really stands out is the way they love and support one another. The show beautifully highlights the strength of female friendship, often putting those bonds above the romantic storylines — which is such a refreshing twist. Of course, there’s no shortage of drama, with plenty of tension, love triangles, and emotional moments that keep you hooked from start to finish. I adore almost every character… though there’s definitely one I absolutely hate!
Department Q
Genre: Crime Thriller
Where to Watch: Netflix
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Quick Blurb:
If you’re a fan of detective stories with complex characters and haunting cases, Department Qis a must-watch. Based on the best-selling book series by Jussi Adler-Olsen, this show follows a disgraced detective and his assistant as they tackle cold cases from the Copenhagen police archives. I LOVED this show! The characters and the suspense!!! I’m really biased when it comes to watching shows so if I don’t like the characters sometimes I won’t like the show.😅 The main character, Carl, is such a jerk but you also loveee him, I mean I did! I finished this show in a day and was really obsessed! I feel like there is going to be a season 2 and I’ll be watching it as soon as it comes out!
Your Friends and Neighbors
Genre: Drama / Dark Comedy
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
This is not your typical neighborhood drama. Your Friends and Neighbors explores the messy, interconnected lives of suburban families. I started this show one Sunday morning and finished it Sunday night! I felt kind’ve bad about myself because I think when I calculated it it was 8 hours😂 It was really entertaining and had me on the edge of my seat so I would really recommend it to to anyone looking for an entertaining show!
The House of Guinness
Genre: Historical Drama / Biopic
rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️
The House of Guinness dives deep into the real-life story behind one of the world’s most iconic beer empires — a tale filled with power, legacy, and family feuds. I really enjoyed this show! While it was probably my least favorite of the five I’ve watched recently, I still found every episode engaging. I’ve always loved series that center around families trying to figure things out, and this one did a great job of showing that balance between independence and connection. Each character had their own path — their personal struggles, ambitions, and romantic entanglements — but what really stood out to me was how they always managed to come together when it mattered most.
Final Thoughts
These five shows span genres, countries, and time periods—but they all have one thing in common: they’re worth your time.

Agree with above!
My recs: The Diplomat, The Outlaws, Ludwig, Happy Valley. We always finish the night with a quick light heated comedy like Young Sheldon or similar. X
People should know Your Friends and Neighbors is sacrilegious and mocks the eucharist. If that isn't something you'd like to see you may want to skip that one.
