Grandma’s Cranberry Sauce Recipe
This is the cranberry sauce my grandma always made, and it’s the one that shows up on our table every single Thanksgiving. It’s simple, cozy, and has that perfect balance of sweet and tart that reminds me of being a kid in her kitchen. No fancy steps — just some classic homemade cranberry sauce.

Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients
1 (12 oz) package fresh cranberries
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
1 cup brown sugar
Pinch of salt
Pinch of black pepper
Instructions
Add the cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, brown sugar, salt, and pepper to a medium saucepan.
Stir everything together and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
Remove from the heat and let it cool — it will thicken more as it cools.
Serve warm or chilled.
