The News We’ve Been Dying To Share
Big News: We’re Moving!
I’ve been waiting to share this with you all until it was official — after years of renting and searching for the perfect place for our family, we’re finally moving!
For the past few years, we’ve been renting an 1,100-square-foot house from my aunt and uncle. It’s been such a special home. It was my parent’s starter home and then my aunt and uncles starter home! We’ve made the most of every inch, but with our kids getting older, it’s started to feel tight. Our older kids really wanted their own space and that just wasn’t happening in this house. We love our block and neighborhood and being so close to my family, but we’ve definitely outgrown the space.
My husband has been working two jobs for the past eight years while we saved and dreamed of owning a home of our own. I wish I could say that social media made this possible — but the truth is, this move is happening because of my husband’s hard work. He’s spent countless weekends and days off working side jobs to make this dream a reality, and I think its amazing. There were so many days when he’d get home from the firehouse, take a quick shower, and head straight to his second job. It hasn’t always been easy, but this has always been a huge goal for us — and knowing what we were working toward made every long day and missed weekend feel worth it. We always believed it would pay off, and now it finally has.
We always thought we’d stay in the Bronx — it’s where I grew up and where a lot of my family still lives — but the reality is, the kind of home we needed there was so expensive. That just wasn’t realistic for us.
One day, after listening to me vent (again) about our space, my husband sent me a Zillow listing in a neighborhood close by. We decided to go see it the next day — and as soon as we left, we both just knew it felt like our house. We put in an offer right away, and it was accepted.
This feels like such a full-circle moment for our family. We’ve built so many memories in our neighborhood, but now we get to start a new chapter somewhere we’re really excited for. I can’t wait to be cooking for you guys in a new space and taking you along for the decorating process. While the new kitchen isn’t exactly my “dream kitchen,” the house had so many things we loved that it didn’t feel like a deal breaker. We’ve always wanted to buy an older home and make it our own — and this one, built in 1890, has so much history and character. I can’t wait to make it ours over the coming years and bring you along!

It is not the kitchen it is the cook that matters.
Congratulations! And what an accomplishment of your hard work and unity that you’ve shown your kids. 🙏🏻
