What I'm Into Lately
books, shows, hobbies, products
I thought it would be fun to share a little list of what I’ve been into lately. Between kids, schedules, and the everyday chaos of life, it’s easy to default to scrolling whenever I get a free minute. Lately, I’ve been trying to be more intentional about picking up a book, watching a good show, or spending time on hobbies I actually enjoy because those things genuinely help me feel better and more like myself.
Everything I talk about is linked here if you want to check out: Links!
This list includes the books I’m reading, shows I’m watching, hobbies I’m getting back into, and a few products and clothes I’m loving right now. If it gives you an idea for how to use those small pockets of time in your day or reminds you to do something just for you, then it’s doing its job.
What I’m Reading
My mom started a book club with a group of her friends, which I love. I missed their last meeting because we had a wedding, but they read The Land in Winter. (they didn’t really enjoy this one!) Their next meeting is in February and the book is Homeschooled, so I’m hoping this helps pull me out of my reading funk.
I go through phases where I’ll read five books in a month… and then won’t pick up a book for six months. But honestly, I always feel so much better when I read at night instead of just scrolling on my phone.
My sister is reading Theo of Golden by Allen Levi because my mom can’t stop talking about! Let me know if you have read any of these or have any recommendations!
What I’m Watching
My husband and I have been making more of an effort to watch TV together at night. We’re almost finished with All Her Fault, which we’ve been loving.
On the nights he works late, I watch shows I know he wouldn’t be into. I’m so excited for Tell Me Lies to come back tonight — it’s one of my favorites.
My daughter and I are also halfway through People You Meet on Vacation. It started off a little slow, but it’s an easy, cozy watch.
If you have any shows you watch with your husband and both enjoy/or girly shows I can watch while my husband is at work please leave them below!!
Random Things I’m Into Lately
Nuuly
If you watch my videos, you know I live in matching sets. My wardrobe is basically sets plus a few basics — they’re comfortable, practical, and I can throw them straight in the wash after being with my kids all day.
The downside is that I never feel like I have anything to wear for events. My sister convinced me to try Nuuly, and I’ve been loving it. You get six pieces of your choice for $98 a month, and you can buy anything you fall in love with at a discount. Even my 14‑year‑old has claimed a few pieces.
I recently rented two dresses for a wedding that would have been way too expensive to buy, and it was perfect. You can also pause your subscription anytime, which is great when you don’t have much going on.
Walking
My sister and I have been trying to walk for an hour a day. We get our work done and head out either before or after lunch. It really does make such a difference — you feel so much better after moving your body instead of sitting on the couch.
It’s cold in New York so it would be so easy to stay in and get cozy but we put on our winter jackets and go walking! I’ve been living in my Aritzia puffer jacket & my sister in her Quince jacket and they make these winter walks really enjoyable!
Trying a New Soup Every Week
I love soup, so I’ve been challenging myself to make a different one each week. Last week was Italian wedding soup and it was so good. Tonight I’m trying Italian chicken soup from The Pioneer Woman — I’ll report back.
Things I Want to Get Into
Needlepoint
So many people I follow are getting into needlepoint, and now I’m officially influenced. There’s a small needlepoint shop near me that I’ve been dying to check out.
I don’t have a crafty bone in my body, so I’m not totally confident I’ll be good at it… but my daughter is super crafty, so I’m hoping at least one of us will figure it out.
Sourdough (Again)
If you’ve been around since last year, you know I went all in on sourdough. It was basically my entire personality. I was making multiple loaves a week, plus crackers, bagels, English muffins, muffins — everything. It was delicious and we were all obsessed.
I stopped when the kids were home for the summer, but I miss it so much. My mom’s friend is giving me some starter this week, so I’m officially getting back into it.
Things I’ve Bought Recently
Milk Frother
This little gadget takes a minute to make warm, frothy milk and somehow turns a plain cup of coffee into something that feels special.
A Planner + Finance Planner
My sister and I are really trying to get organized with our schedules and finances this year, so we’re hoping these help keep us on track.
Target Splatter Bowls & Platter
I love serveware, especially anything with a splatter pattern. When I saw Target had affordable splatter pieces, I didn’t even hesitate.
Le Creuset Salt & Pepper Holders
My sister‑in‑law gave these to me for Christmas and they are so cute on my counter.
If you’ve been into anything fun lately — books, shows, random purchases, hobbies — tell me. I’m always looking for something new to try.
